N- methyltyramine is a chemical compound selected from the group of the phenylethylamine. It comes naturally present together with other compounds such as tyramine, hordenine (N, N- Dimethyltyramin ) and Candicin in plants of the genus Ariocarpus and in many seedlings. It is caused by methylation of tyramine and is the conjugate base of N- Methyltyraminium. In Chinese medicine, an influence on the cardiovascular system is examined.
