N- octyl bicycloheptene dicarboximide or MGK - 264 is a chemical compound selected from the group of the dicarboximides, which acts both as a repellent or as a synergist to insects. MGK -264 was developed by McLaughlin Gormley King as an inexpensive alternative to piperonyl butoxide and the late 1940s, first approved in the United States.
N -octyl- bicycloheptene - dicarboximide is not considered as plant protection products as defined in Directives 91/414/EEC or 1107/2009/EG. In Germany, Austria and Switzerland, no plant protection products containing this active ingredient are allowed.
