N. I. Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod

The State University of Nizhny Novgorod Lobachevsky (Russian Нижегородский государственный университет им. Лобачевского, short ННГУ ) was ( according to the Gregorian calendar), founded on 31 January 1916. It bears the name of the born in Nizhny Novgorod mathematician Nikolai Ivanovich Lobachevsky.

From 1932 to 1990 she was analogous to the renaming of the city the name of Gorky State University ( Горьковский государственный университет ). The university belongs to the Gorkowski Awtomobilny Sawod and the Russian Railways the largest employers Nizhny Novgorod.
