N. R. M.

N.R.M. ( Abbreviation for white russian Незалежная Рэспубліка Мроя / Nesaleschnaja Respublika Mroja, German Independent Republic of Dreams ) is a rock band from Minsk, Belarus, which was founded in 1994. You concerts and singing in the local language. They defeated several years a de facto banned from performing, as it was perceived as a rallying point for the political opposition to the government. Since 2008, the band can occur in Belarus again. In January 2011, the remaining band members announced that singer Ljawon Wolski take an artistic break. Wolski himself denied that he had asked for such a break. The explanations heated to speculation about the imminent end of the band.

History

The band is from an earlier group Mroja ( which translates as "Dreams " means ), emerged. Their music can be assigned to a melodic punk and hard rock. She sings her songs in Belarusian with witty and often indirect political lyrics. N.R.M. occurred in 2004 in Kiev in support of the Orange Revolution in Ukraine, hoping that a similar, peaceful revolution would happen in their own country. It was followed by numerous performances abroad, for example, in Germany, Poland, Slovakia and Sweden. In their home country, however, the group was put on the ban list, so they were there rarely concerts.
