N700 Series Shinkansen

The Shinkansen series N700 is a Japanese high-speed train, which is used by the JR Central, JR West and JR Kyusyu on the Tōkaidō, Sanyo and Kyushu Shinkansen.

Operation

The trains of the series N700 were procured as a replacement for the aging 300 and 500 series ( W variant ) and nine lines of uneconomic Series 700 (variant C). From July 2007 to March 2012 took over the features of the N700 series successively all the rides on the Nozomi connections.

In addition, the Series N700 since 15 March 2008 on the Hikari connections as well as early morning and late evening on the Kodama - compounds (eg, Kokura - Hakata and, since March 14, 2009, Tokio-Hamamatsu/Mishima ) are used.

Since March 2009, all trains of the N700 series are equipped with Wi-Fi between Tokyo and Shin- Osaka.

The trains of the variants S and R are as Sakura and Mizuho connections on the Kyushu Shinkansen in use since March 2011.

Technology

The Series N700 has a top speed of 300 km / h on the Sanyo Shinkansen. By tilting technology to the control of air pressure in the secondary suspension of the bogie, the series tends N700 by up to one degree. In order for the trains to curves in the Tokaido line ( 2,500 m - radius rule ) at 270 km / h drive which other Shinkansen trains with only 255 km / h are permitted to access. Furthermore, accelerated the series N700 with 2.6 km / h * s faster than other Shinkansen trains. Due to the high acceleration, the series reaches N700 in just three minutes, the 270 km / h mark. These advantages make the travel time from Tokyo to Osaka is called " Nozomi " trains with four stops in two hours and 25 minutes mastered ( five minutes faster than before ). The N700 series takes on a ride of 270 km / h 32 percent less power than first generation of Shinkansen 0 series on a ride of 220 km / h (49 percent less on a ride of 220 km / h) The 16 -car train can stop only with the regenerative braking on the fourteen driven carriage at normal braking. Thus the efficiency is improved when converting the drive energy of a train in accordance with the electrical energy.
