Na příkopě

Well příkopě ( German " Auf dem Graben ") is a street in the center of Prague.

Location

It connects the Wenceslas Square and Republic Square and it forms the boundary between the Old and New Town. Influenced she is today by imposing buildings, including the headquarters of the Czech National Bank, ancient palaces and luxury shops.

History

The road is located on the site of a trench, which was excavated in 1232-34 the plants of the Old Town of Prague. 1760 the moat was filled and there was a road that ( " In the old avenues " ) was first called Ve Starych alejích, 1839-70 was renamed to Kolowratská třída ( " Kolowrat Avenue " ) and since 1871 reflects the new name.
