NAACP Image Award

The NAACP Image Award is an award that year by the American National Association for the Advancement of Colored People ( NAACP ) is awarded for special services, which are provided in the areas of film, television, music and literature of African- Americans.

Like the Oscars or the Grammys, the winners are selected, in this case, by members of the NAACP. Currently, the Image Award is presented in 35 categories. In addition, there are also special awards such as the President's Award, the Chairman's Award, Entertainer of the Year and the Image Award Hall of Fame.

The prize was first awarded in 1969 and transferred for television since 1974. Today, this is done via the FOX network. The ceremony will take place somewhere in or near Los Angeles usually in February or early March.
