Nacka

Nacka is an urban area in the metropolitan area of Stockholm and capital of the municipality of the same name. The settlement is located in the north-eastern Södermanland and has about 25,000 inhabitants. Nacka is a typical suburb with the local government is the largest employer. The place is structurally closely related to Stockholm and is therefore the ' Tätort Stockholm ' expected.

History

Nacka was characterized initially quiet, but emerged after the relocation of several industrial establishments on the outskirts of Stockholm in the 1870s here numerous workers' dwellings. With the opening of Saltsjöbanan 1893, this trend continued, but it also created numerous villas. At the same time two large mills were opened on the bay that leads to Stockholm. Nacka 1949 and received its charter and was one of the last settlements before the administrative transformation of the country, which was awarded this privilege. In recent years, industrial production declined and there is a shift to the service sector. In addition, many residents commute daily to Stockholm.

Townscape

Nacka has long been influenced by the mix of residential and industrial areas that emerged in the late 19th century. In the middle of the 20th century saw several apartment house settlements that gave the community a more urban character. 1989 opened a large shopping center ( Nacka Forum ), which today acts as an unofficial community center.
