Nad Ali District

Nad Ali ( Pashto / Dari: ناد علی ) is a district in the southern Afghan province of Helmand. Its population is made up of 80 % Pashtuns, 10 % Hazaras, Tajiks 5% and 5% Baloch together. The total population amounted in 2006 to 235.590. The majority of the western part of the county is desert. The east of the district is densely populated and is home to the majority of its residents who live near the provincial capital of Helmand, Lashkar Gah. The total area of the district is 4,564 square meters.
