Nada Surf
Nada Surf is an American alternative rock band from New York.
History
With the single from their debut album Popular high / low of 1996 after achieving a certain public success. High / Low self reached the 63rd place in the U.S. Billboard charts. Problems with the record company meant that the second album The Proximity Effect 1998 came on the market in Europe only. But again, the album was not marketed particularly despite good reviews, which is why it has had little success. Then the band bought back the rights to the album and released it on their own label MarDev.
2002 came to a new record label out the album Let Go, which also contains with Là pour ça a French title. This is also an indication that Nada Surf has in France over a relatively large fan base. The Song Inside Of Love the album reached the 73rd place in the British charts. About the bare chart success beyond the band with Let Go earned but especially in Germany a loyal and enthusiastic fan base and helped himself to a status as heroes of the indie scene. Also appearances such as the opening act of Sportfreunde Stiller in Munich's Olympiahalle or before We are heroes in the Berlin Wuhlheide helped Nada Surf at a relatively high awareness and popularity. In Europe their records appear at City Slang, as well as their fifth studio album entitled Lucky, released in early 2008.
On 7 May 2010 the sixth studio album by Nada Surf, If I Had A Hi- Fi was released. It consists of 12 cover versions, including Depeche Mode and Kate Bush tracks. In January 2012, the band with The Stars Are Indifferent To Astronomy again brought out an album of his own compositions.
Use of Nada Surf titles in film and television productions
The title Blankest Year published in 2005 their fourth album The Weight Is A Gift 2006 served as background music for the TV commercial for the Suzuki Swift, the band were more titles such as 'll have no regrets in the movies, The Edukators, Love Song for Bobby Long used and summer storm. In the film comedy Oh Boy runs during the bar scene in which Niko his former classmate Julika meet again, in the background the song Teenage Dreams. Also in TV series was the music of Nada Surf use. For example, in O.C., California. There, the cover song If You Leave was used. In an episode of the first season of the American series How I Met Your Mother the song Inside of Love emerges. In further episodes were followed by the song Always Love and Beautiful beat. In the also U.S. series One Tree Hill a few titles were heard and in the third season, they had an appearance in the series in which they played Concrete Bed. In the movie Disturbia the song Always Love from the album The Weight is a Gift is played at one point. The piece is also included on the soundtrack CD for the film.
