Nadia Nadim

Nadia Nadim ( born January 2, 1988 in Kabul, Afghanistan) is a Danish football player of Afghan origin.

Life

Nadim was born in Afghanistan. The early 2000s, she fled with her family to Denmark and grew from then on in Aarhus, where she continued her soccer career began at GUG Bold club FC. He subsequently held positions at Aalborg BK, B 52/Aalborg FC and Viborg Fodbold. In the summer of 2007, she then joined Skovbakken IK and won in 2009 with her club the Danish Cup competition, with Nadim the decisive goal to 4:3 succeeded in the penalty shootout of their team. After four years at Skovbakken, she left on 4 June 2012 and the club moved to the record champions Fortuna Hjørring. With Hjørring it reached 2012/13 the second round, where the team was eliminated against Kopparbergs / Göteborg FC in the UEFA Women's Champions League. As a runner-up in 2013 Hjørring is also qualified for the UEFA Women's Champions League 2013/14.

National

In spring 2009, Nadim took Danish citizenship and made his debut on 4 March 2009 at the Algarve Cup in a match against the United States for the Danish national team. She took part in the European Championships in 2009 and 2013. At the European Championships in 2013 she had with her team in both the quarter-final against France and in the semifinal against Norway to penalties. Nadim was the only Danish woman who could transform their penalty in both penalties. As against Norway failed to do two Danish women, Denmark was eliminated.

In so far 41 international matches, the striker scored five goals.
