Naevius

Naevius was the Roman Empire of the nouns of the plebeian gens Naevia.

The family included:

  • Gnaeus Naevius, poet and playwright in the 3rd century BC

  • Quintus Naevius Sutorius Macro, praetorian prefect under Tiberius and Caligula

The Porta Naevia was a gate in the Servian wall on the Aventine Hill in Rome.
