Naftidrofuryl is a drug from the group of blood circulation-promoting substances. It is used for peripheral arterial disease (PAD ) from stage II to improve the circulation in the legs, and thus to extend the distance walked.

Use in medicine

According to the guideline of the German Society for Angiology naftidrofuryl or Nafronyl will be used to improve circulation. From a pharmacological perspective, there are at the circulation-promoting agents, however, doubts about the effectiveness, since the dilatation and the unaffected vessels may decrease the blood flow to the affected vessels further than so-called steal phenomenon.
