Nagahama, Shiga
Nagahama (Japanese长 浜 市, -shi, literally long beach ) is a town in the Japanese prefecture of Shiga on Lake Biwa.
History
The appointment to Shi took place on April 1, 1943 with the merger of Chō Nagahama (长 浜 町, chō ) with the Mura Ibuki (伊 吹 村, -mura ), Minamigōri (南 郷 里 村, -mura ), Kamiteru (神 照 村- mura ), Kanda (神 田村, -mura ), Kitagōri (北 郷 里 村, -mura ), Nishikuroda (西 黒 田村, -mura ) and Rokusho (六 荘 村, -mura ) in Sakata -gun (坂 田 郡). On 13 February 2006 Azai (浅井 町, -chō ) in Higashizai -gun (东 浅井 郡) was incorporated in Nagahama.
