Nagawa (Nagano)

Nagawa ( Japanese:长 和 町, machi ) is a town in Chiisagata -gun in Nagano Prefecture on the main Japanese island of Honshu. The town was established on 1 October 2005 as part of a merger of the city Nagato and the village ( mura ) Wada.

Geography

Nagawa borders the cities ( shi) Ueda, Matsumoto, Suwa and Chino as well as to the city Shimosuwa of Suwa -gun and the city of Tateshina Kitasaku -gun. By Nagawa the rivers flow Yoda and Daimon. Nagawa has a share in the plateau Utsukushigahara.

Traffic

By Nagawa run the national roads 142, 152 and 254 The part of the National Highway 142, which runs through the Shinwada Tunnel is a toll road.

Nagawa has no connection to the Japanese rail network.

Educational institutions

In Nagawa are the urban primary school Nagato and the urban primary school Wada. There is also the urban middle school Wada. The Yodakubo Nambu middle school is jointly supported by the cities Nagawa and Ueda.
