Nahas Angula
Nahas Angula Gideon ( born August 22, 1943 in Onyaanya, Namibia ) is a Namibian SWAPO politicians. Nahas Angula was dated 21 March 2005 until 4 December 2012, Prime Minister of Namibia. Since then, he is Minister of Defense.
Life
Nahas Angula grew up in Ovamboland and in 1967 a member of the South West Africa People 's Organization (SWAPO ). From 1969 to 1972 he studied political science at the University of Zambia, then to 1978, at Columbia University in New York. From 1976 to 1980 he was employed at the United Nations in New York. 1990 Nahas Angula was a member of the National Assembly and worked for 15 years as Namibia's Minister of Education.
In 2004 he ran for the party leadership of SWAPO and thus was given the opportunity to run as a presidential candidate. However, he lost to current President Hifikepunye Pohamba.
