Nakhal

Nachl (Arabic نخل ) (English: Nakhal ) is a historic town in Oman on the northern edge of the Hajar Mountains, which belongs to the fertile coastal plain al - Batina. Awareness that the city has for its hot springs Ain A'Thawwarah and the Nachal Fort (Arabic قلعة نخل Qal ʿ a Nakhal ), a large fortress, which houses a museum. History of the fortress

The fortress of Husn Al Heem, was probably already present in the pre-Islamic period and has been restored and renovated several times since then. In the 17th century it was rebuilt by Omani architect. In 1834 it was replaced by Imam Said bin Sultan renovated. In 1990 it was fully restored. Imams of Wadi Bani Kharous and Jaruba Dynasty resided in the past in the fortress.

Known Structures

The fortress guarding the entrance to Wadi Ar Raqeem. It lies at the foot of the mountain Jebel Nakhal, which belongs to the Western Hajar Mountains. The fort is built in traditional Omani style has the particularity that it was built on and around a non-processed rocks around.
