Nakhon Luang District

Amphoe Nakhon Luang ( Thai: อำเภอ นครหลวง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the northeastern province of Ayutthaya. The Ayutthaya Province located in the central region of Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Don Phut Province Saraburi and Amphoe Tha Ruea, Phachi, Uthai, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya and Bang Pahan Ayutthaya province.

History

The district of Nakhon Luang was formerly part of Amphoe Nakhon Luang Noi, now called Bang Pahan. It was established as an independent district in 1895.

Management

Amphoe Nakhon Luang ( tambon) is divided into 12 municipalities.

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

• Nakhon Luang ( เทศบาล ตำบล นครหลวง ) consists of the whole Tambon Nakhon Luang and parts of Bang Rakam and Bang Phra Khru.
• Aranyik ( เทศบาล ตำบล อรัญญิก ) consists of the whole Tambon Phra Non and parts of the tambon Tha Chang, Sam Thai.

There are still six administrative organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล )
