Nam Khun District

Amphoe Nam Khun ( Thai: อำเภอ น้ำ ขุ่น ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the southwest of the province of Ubon Ratchathani. The Ubon Ratchathani Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

Neighboring districts are (from west clockwise): Amphoe Kantharalak Province Sisaket, the Amphoe Thung Si Udom, Det Udom and Nam Yuen in Ubon Ratchathani province, and the province of Preah Vihear in Cambodia.

History

Nam Khun was on 15 July 1996, first as a small district ( King Amphoe ) was established by Amphoe Nam Yuen was separated from.

On 15 May 2007, the Thai government had decided that all 81 King Amphoe to rise in the simple Amphoe status to unify the administration. With the publication in the Royal Gazette " Issue 124 chapter 46" of 24 August 2007, this decision officially entered into force.

Administrative units

Amphoe Nam Khun is ( tambon) divided into four municipalities, which in turn in 55 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

Chief of the county is Hiran Thonkla

There is a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Khilek ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ขี้เหล็ก ), consisting of the whole tambon Khilek.

There are in addition three Tambon Administration Organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ).
