Name That Tune

Name That Tune was a television program that first aired in the U.S. in 1953. The two candidates competed against each other to identify the title and artist of a song. Here, one could guess first who called in a duel of the two candidates, the lowest number of tones to be played. An orchestra played then the appropriate number of tones, sometimes only the first tone.

In Germany, the show was seen in the 80s cable television on Super Channel in English. A German version of the transmission format ran under the name Vox Have tones? Moderated by Matthias Opdenhövel.
