Genesis

Owes its existence to this desert paradise for an ecological irrationality of former residents and farmers on the other, the idealism of Windhoek businessman. The farmers had thus brought the area through intensive management ( grazing and hunting ) from the ecological balance that the farms generated no income. J. A. Bruckner began in 1984 with the purchase of farms Gorrasis, The Duine, Stellarine and Wolwedans. He left the pasture fences tear down, moved to local game and gave the country time to recover. The financial cost associated let himself be hindered by the establishment of exclusive accommodations, like the Wolwedans Dune Lodge Lodge or the Wolwedans Dune Camp in limits. The Lodge operation could be significantly expanded over the years, as the unique location, the colors of the desert landscape and the rest were spread very quickly among the tourists. 2012 was the park through the connection with the farms Springbokvlakte and Saffier and thus additional 30'000ha, its present size.
