NAMM Show

The NAMM Show is one of the largest trade fairs in the music industry in the world. Comparable is only the Musikmesse in Frankfurt am Main. The NAMM is held usually in January of each year in Anaheim, California. The show from 2008 had, according to the fair about 1,560 exhibitors and 88,100 visitors from around the world. The number of visitors was a new record. The NAMM show is not open to the public, access limited to trade audience and invited guests.

The acronym NAMM originally stood for National Association of Music Merchants. In the meantime, not only the music dealers involved, but also the producers and affiliates. The advertised brand is therefore not further used.

Every year thousands of new products will be introduced at the show, so that a large media presence is recorded. Some media even have their own publications, which can only be acquired at the fair.

The Anaheim Convention Center, which takes place the exhibition, is one of the largest exhibition centers in the world. The NAMM filled since 2007 the complete available exhibition space. Despite the strict rules for noise emissions, the volume level is often above 85 dBA solely by the background noise.

There are in addition taking place in January exhibition also have another show in the summer, which is in Austin, Texas, held. This is only about one -third the size and designed with more emphasis on the " Networking".
