The Nan River ( Thai: แม่น้ำ น่าน Maenam Nan ) is one of the most important tributaries of the Chao Phraya, the central stream of Thailand and flows a little more than 600 km to the south.
The origin of the Nan located in the eponymous province of Nan in Northern Thailand. The Nan then flows south through the provinces of Uttaradit, Phitsanulok and Phichit, before he continues to flow together with the Yom Chum Saeng at ( Nakhon Sawan ). The Nan joins at Pak Nam Pho in the city of Nakhon Sawan with the Ping Chao Phraya River, the largest river in Thailand, which flows south of Bangkok in the Gulf of Thailand.
On the Nan Phitsanulok traditional boat races are held every year.
