Nancy Haigh

Nancy Haigh is an American set designer.

Life

Haigh completed her studies in 1968 at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Her film career began in 1983 as a crew member in Francis Ford Coppola's Rumble Fish. It was followed by several more assistant positions in film productions such as Hitcher, the Highway Killer. In 1988, she was the first time working as a production designer for Julien Temple's science fiction film Zebo, the third from the star center with Geena Davis, Jeff Goldblum and Jim Carrey in the lead roles. Two years later, she worked at Miller 's Crossing for the first time along with Ethan and Joel Coen. Since then, Haigh was involved in most of the films of the Coen brothers, and already their second collaboration in 1992, she received her first Oscar nomination. Excellent but it was this year for Barry Levinson's gangster film Barton Fink. Other Oscar nominations she received for Forrest Gump, Road to Perdition and Dreamgirls.

2011 she has been for their tenth collaboration with the Coen brothers, True Grit, once again nominated for an Oscar.
