Nancy Hogshead-Makar

Nancy Hogshead ( born April 17, 1962 in Iowa City ) is a former American swimmer.

She appeared in the international swimming scene in 1977 with 14 years and was preparing for the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow. Due to the Olympic boycott of the United States, however, they could not participate in these games. Four years later she was three time Olympic gold medalist at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. She won the 100m freestyle and won, because at the same time - a novelty at the Olympic Games - in common with Carrie Stone zeal the gold medal. She was also with the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay and the 4 × 100 m medley relay Olympic gold medalist. Moreover, more than 200 m medley, she won the silver medal.

In 1994, she was inducted into the Hall of Fame International Swimming Sports. Today she works as a professor of law at the Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville.
