Nancy Kelly

Nancy Kelly ( born March 25, 1921 in Lowell, Massachusetts, † January 2, 1995 in Bel Air, California ) was an American film and theater actress. She played at the age of five years in her first film at the age of ten and gained first experience on stage. In 1957 she was nominated for the Academy the lead role in The Bad Seed for an Oscar. From the mid- 1950s she played mainly guest roles in television series. At Nancy Kelly remembers a star on the Walk of Fame.

Life

Nancy Kelly, the younger sister of actor Jack Kelly, Kelly enjoyed her schooling at the Bentley School for Girls and at Saint Lawrence Academy in Santa Clarita, California. She stood since she was five years before the camera. Their debut was the social drama The Untamed Lady of 1926. Five years later, in 1931, she was on stage for the first time on Broadway.

Kelly, who was put under contract by 20th Century Fox, succeeded in both film and theater to convince. She was honored in 1955 for her role in the play The Bad Seed Tony Award. When the film a year later, in 1956, was adapted into a movie, Kelly was able to engage again, and in 1957 was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress. For another well-known film, convinced in the Kelly, who in 1939 produced Western Jesse James, man was without law. From the mid- 1950s Nance Kelly was hardly film offers. They can be seen since then has been mainly as a guest star in TV series. Known these were mainly in the U.S..

Nancy Kelly was married three times. They married in February 1941 the actor Edmond O'Brien; the divorce took place a year later, in February 1942. Between 1946 and 1950, Kelly was married to the cinematographer Fred Jackman Jr., and most recently from 1955 to 1968 with the theater producer Warren Caro. In all cases, the marriage ended in divorce. With Caro Kelly got in January 1957 their only child, daughter Kelly Caro. She died in 1995, at the age of 73 years, from complications of her diabetes mellitus. Today a star on the Walk of Fame recalls the actress.
