Nandu M. Natekar

Nandkumar " Nandu " Mahadeo Natekar ( born May 12, 1933) is a former Indian badminton player. His son Gaurav Natekar was later Indian tennis champion.

Career

Nandu M. Natekar won his first national title in India in 1953. Until 1970, he won a total of 17 gold medals at Indian Championships. In 1956 he won the Selangor Open. 1962 and 1963 he won the King's Cup in Bangkok. In 1965 he took part in Jamaica at the Commonwealth Games. As the first badminton player, he received the Arjuna Award in 1961.
