Nanjing Metro

The Metro Nanjing is the underground network of Nanjing, Jiangsu, China.

The construction of Line 1 began in 2000. Operation began on 3 September 2005, 16 stations on a length of 21.72 km.

On 28 May 2010, the 24.5 km long southern extension and Line 2 was both put into operation, bringing the total length of the underground Nanjing compared to 2005 increased by almost four times.

In the long term more 10 subway lines arise.

Line network

Line 1

Line 1 is 46.2 km long and has 31 stations. It runs mainly north-south direction. The line beginning in the north at Maigaoqiao Metro Station, runs south until it splits at the Andemen Metro Station, from there the main line runs westward to the Metro Station Olympic Sports Center, while the branching línies south to China Metro Station Pharmaceutical University leads.

Line 2

The Line 2 is 40.8 km long and has 26 stations. The section between the Maqun and Jingtianlu subway stations was originally planned as the east as the line 2, but went on the same day as the line in operation. It runs mostly east-west direction, from Youfangqiao Metro Station in the southwest to Jingtianlu Metro Station in the northeast.

Extension

According to the latest reports, the city of Nanjing plans to complete a total of 17 lines by 2030.

Line 1

A westward extension of the line to cross the Yangtze River, is being built at present. This line will have a length of approximately 14.4 kilometers and eight underground stations. There are plans for a northern extension, extend north to line up according to Yanziji. The first phase of the expansion will include a length of five kilometers, four aboveground stations.

Line 3

Construction of the line was 3 in January 2010. This new line with a north -south orientation will be about 40.19 km long and about 28 underground stations have.

Ticketing system

How many metro systems in the world are the fares depending on the distance. The fares range from 2 yuan ( about U.S. $ 0.30 ) for travel with less than eight stations up to 4 yuan for longer trips. There is a discount of five percent for users of the Nanjing Public Utility IC Card.

  • 20 six-car trains from Alstom and the Nanjing Puzhen Rail Vehicle plant, ordered in 2002 the commissioning of the first line

Signal system

For line 1, the Siemens Mobility have been fitted in November 2002 with a supply.

For line 2 Siemens Mobility and its local partner Nanjing Research Institute of Electronic Technology ( NRIET ) have been awarded the contract to provide the signal system after they have signed a contract, which has a circumference of around 25 million euros. The technologies that will be applied include Trainguard MT, Vicos OC 501 Sicas ECC and the Az S 350 U Achsenzählsystem.
