Nano-RAM

Nanotube -based, nano- RAM or NRAM is the name of a semiconductor memory technology. It was developed by Thomas Rückes at the company Nantero in Woburn.

The technique is characterized in that carbon nanotubes be used for storing data. It is because the tubes change their shape when a voltage, which changes its electrical resistance and thus a function as obtained with a memory transistor. Since the tubes and to retain this shape change, if the voltage is again removed, this memory technology is one of the non-volatile memories.
