Nantua

Nantua is a commune with 3651 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Ain ​​, in the Rhône -Alpes. It is sub-prefecture of the arrondissements Nantua and capital of the canton Nantua.

Geography

Nantua is on 480 m above sea level. Level, about 30 kilometers east of Bourg -en- Bresse and 45 kilometers west of Geneva ( straight line ). History

Emperor Charles the Bald was buried in October 877 in Nantua, but later reburied in the Abbey of Saint- Denis.
