Nanzdietschweiler

Nanzdietschweiler is a municipality in the district of Kusel, in Rhineland -Palatinate. With approximately 1200 inhabitants, it is the third largest municipality within municipality Glan- Münchweiler. It was created in 1969 when the places Nanzweiler, Dietschweiler and Nanzdiezweiler were merged into this new community in the course of administrative reform in Rhineland-Palatinate. Geography

Nanzdietschweiler is in the upper Glantal at the junction of Landstuhler break to North Palatine Uplands. The place is between 220 m and 250 m above sea level. The highest elevations of the district reach 384 m above sea level. The place is marked by hiking inviting forests, meadows and species-rich Glan flowing among other things, the interest to ornithologists bird reserve " Heimer Brühl ". Nanzdietschweiler is geographically the largest town in the municipality and after Herschweiler- Pettersheim and Glan- Münchweiler the place with the third largest population.

The municipality was formerly divided into three parts: Nanzweiler, Dietschweiler and Nanzdiezweiler. Added to this was the cross, which is counted to Dietschweiler. The border ran with the Glan ( Nanzweiler / Nanzdiezweiler ) and at the level of today's sports field ( Nanzweiler / Dietschweiler ). History

Nanzweiler was first documented in 1350 as Nanczvilre and Dietschweiler in 1437 as Diezwiler; 1477 was designated as Dyzweiler. The settlement area both places extended to both sides of the glans. Rail
