Napoleon and Samantha

Escape into the wild (AKA Napoleon and Samantha ) is an American drama from 1972 with Michael Douglas, Jodie Foster and Johnny Whitaker in the lead roles.

Action

After the death of his grandfather feared the eleven year old boy Napoleon that his former circus lion Major he is taken away and he has to live with an uncle living far away even from now on. To avoid this fate, he persuades his girlfriend Samantha to flee with him and the animal in the mountains. There they look for the hermit Danny from which they hope to help and get taught some wisdom.

The then-ten- year-old Jodie Foster, who made her film debut in this film, was attacked during the filming of one of the lions, and even today has the scars resulting therefrom.

Michael Douglas began the same year his five years working in the television series The Streets of San Francisco, by which he became a star.
