Napoleon is a city in Henry County, Ohio, United States and is located on the Maumee River. At the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 9,318. Napoleon is the county seat of Henry County.

History

Napoleon was founded in 1834. In 1840 the City 300 inhabitants, in 1880, already over 3,000. Reason for the growth was primarily the completion of the Miami - Erie Canal, and the connection to two railroad lines that ran through the town.

Attractions

The Henry County Courthouse located in the historic district is on the National Register of Historic Places. The building was erected in 1880 and is regarded as a landmark.
