Narsdorf is a municipality in the administrative community Geithain in the district of Leipzig, Saxony, Germany.

History

The district Seifersdorf was first mentioned in 1208 as " Sifridesdorp " in history. In 1350, then Narsdorf was first documented as " Nordinsdorff ". In the 13th century, in the time of the colonization of the East, it was a clearing settlement. Presumably, the place fell in 1424 by the pestilence desolate. In 1552 Narsdorf was mentioned as " Artz village" and in 1590 as " Narssdorff ".

On 1 October 1996, the municipal reform took place, according to the Narsdorf, Ossa and Rathendorf banded together to form a community.

On 1 January 2002, Narsdorf graduated with Geithain to an administrative community together.

Geography and transport

Narsdorf is in the countryside Kohrener country in the Saxon hills about 4 km south of Geithain and 7 km southwest of Rochlitz. Narsdorf is rich in clay, the dominant natural resource in the region. There are in Narsdorf and around many waters such as the Vollhardt ponds, the clay pit, streams like the cat and many more. Other geographical features are just the Eulaholz, Dölitzschtal, the Dölitzscher Forest, Acorn Pond and the nature reserve Hege ponds. Through the district Dölitzsch the B 175 also performs the railway line Leipzig - Chemnitz through the community. Furthermore, the site is located on the motorway A 72, which can be reached through the installation point Rochlitz.
