Naruhito, Crown Prince of Japan

Crown Prince Naruhito / na'ɺ̠ɯçito / (Japanese皇太子 徳 仁 亲王, Kōtaishi Naruhito - shinnō; born February 23, 1960 in Tokyo, Japan) is the eldest son of Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko. His childhood title was Prince Hiro (浩 宫, Hiro -no- miya ). His appointment as Crown Prince on February 23, 1991, his 31st birthday.

Training

Naruhito completed his studies in history at Gakushuin University in 1982 with a bachelor's degree and in 1988 with a Master's from. From 1983 to 1985 he also studied at Merton College, Oxford, England.

Marriage and family

Naruhito became engaged on January 19, 1993 Masako. Since 9 June 1993, both married to each other. The only child of the couple, daughter Aiko, was born on 1 December 2001.

Succession
