NASDAQ OMX Commodities Europe

NASDAQ OMX Commodities Europe is the trade name of a stock market for financial products in the field of energy for the Scandinavian countries (Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland), as well as for Lithuania.

Structure

It belongs to the company NASDAQ OMX Oslo ASA which traded until November 2010 under the name of Nord Pool ASA. Thus, the power exchange is now part indirectly to the NASDAQ OMX Group. Previously, the Norwegian and Swedish transmission system operator Statnett and Svenska Kraftnät were involved with 50 % of the company.

History

In 2002, the spot market in the company Nord Pool Spot AS has been spun. Since 2008, the Nord Pool, the largest energy futures exchange and the second largest stock exchange on which the European Union emission allowances ( EUAs) and global certified emission reductions (CERs ) was able to be traded.
