Nasr City

Nasr City (Arabic: مدينة نصر, DMG Madīnat Nasr ) is a district of Cairo. It is located in the eastern part of the city. Nasr City was built in the 1960s as an extension to the neighboring district of Heliopolis. The then President Gamal Abdel Nasser was personally involved in the project and chose the name of the district Nasr ( German: Victory ).

With 250 square kilometers Nasr City district of Cairo, the largest area in 10 Subdistrikte is divided. In Nasr City, the Cairo International Stadium is located.

Nasr City is considered a stronghold of the Muslim Brotherhood.
