Geography
The town is located 15 km west of Ingolstadt, 9 km north of Neuburg and 13 km south of Eichstätt in Schuttertal on the edge of nature park Altmuhltal.
Neighboring communities
The market town wet rock is adjacent to the county-level city of Ingolstadt, in the district town of Neuburg on the Danube and the town of Bergheim in the district of Neuburg- Schrobenhausen, the communities Egweil, Buxheim, Adelschlag and market Wellheim (all district of Eichstätt ).

History
The place dates back to the founded by the Romans between 80 and 90 AD civilian settlement Vicus Scuttarensis very close to a castle and at the intersection of two trade routes, named after the Roman name of the creek Schutter. Today's local name was taken from the castle and first appears in a charter of 1189; But the origins of the castle date back to the 11th century. Until about 1300, the castle was owned by the local nobility as eichstättische ministeriales. Nassenfels sister cities are the city Fladungen in the Lower Franconian district of Rhön - grave field and Comana de Jos in Romania. Every year Fladunger for a week after wet rock where they pitch tents in the yard and next to the neighboring meadow.

Structures
Although the market town has more rural character, he has but with the ruins of the Gothic Wasserburg an impressive landmark. Natural Monuments
On westerly from the place Speckberg with steppe heath were made discoveries from the Paleolithic, the middle and the Neolithic period.

Traffic
Nassenfels is centrally located between the three cities Ingolstadt, Eichstätt and Neuburg an der Donau. A state road and several county roads meet in wet rock. The place is so easy to reach.
