Nasser Al-Kharafi

Nasser Al- Kharafi ( born June 17, 1943 in Kuwait City, † April 17, 2011 in Cairo ) was a Kuwaiti entrepreneurs.

Life

He was the owner of the company's MA Kharafi & Sons. He held the majority of Zain, one of the largest telecommunications companies in the Middle East and Africa. Kharafi had businesses and franchises in 11 countries, including Egypt, South Africa and Syria. In Egypt, the Al Kharafi group built the port Ghalib International Marina. Forbes magazine put it in 2011 to 77th in a list of the richest men in the world with an estimated fortune of 10.4 billion U.S. dollars.

Al- Kharafi died 2011 in Cairo from a heart attack. He was married and had five children. His brother, Jassem Al- Kharafi is speaker of the Kuwaiti Parliament; his sister Faiza is rector of Kuwait University.
