Nasser Sebaggala

Haji Nasser Ntege Ssebagala (* November 15, 1947 in Kampala ) is a Ugandan politician.

The end of 1997 Ssebagala approached in the mayoral elections in Kampala, capital of Uganda, the Democratic Party against Fred Iga. He won, but was arrested in 1998 in the U.S., because he was said to have counterfeit money with him. He had a sentence in Boston to settle, while John Ssebaana Kizito took over the mayor's office.

After he returned to Uganda in 2000, he was a candidate for the presidential elections in Uganda in 2001. His candidacy, however, was rejected by the election commission after doubts about the authenticity of his academic degree at Ruskin College, Oxford came up.

In the presidential election of 2006 Ssebagala wanted to compete again for the Democratic Party. When the internal party primaries in December 2005 but won Ssebaana Kizito, so Ssebagala be filed as an independent candidate for election. But a short time later, he withdrew his candidacy and announced his support to Kizito. Instead, he came back in to the mayoral elections in Kampala and was committed to having 53 percent of the vote against Peter Sematimba (40 % of the voting ) by.

One of the women of the Muslim Ssebagala is the politician Catherine Nabagesera.
