Nat Faxon

Nathaniel " Nat" Faxon (* 1975) is an American actor and screenwriter. He won the 2012 Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for the film The Descendants - family and other matters.

Life

Faxon grew up in Manchester -by-the -Sea in the U.S. state of Massachusetts. He attended Hamilton College in Clinton, New York. In 2001, he joined the comedy group The Groundlings in Los Angeles.

A first roller had Faxon in a 1999 episode of the TV series Rude Awakening - for Adults Only! . This was followed by small roles in the television series starlets, Reno 911!, Joey and Happy Hour as well as numerous guest appearances on various series such as NCIS (2005), My Name Is Earl (2006), Mad Men (2008), Happy Endings (2011) or Up All Night (2012 ). He also played in his early days often small roles in comedies such as Slackers or beer festival. He also took speaking roles in the animated series American Dad, The Cleveland Show and since 2012 in Star Wars: Detours. From 2012 to 2013 he starred in the sitcom Ben and Kate the television channel Fox in the role of Ben Fox his first starring role.

Together with Alexander Payne and Jim Rash, whom he met at The Groundlings, Faxon wrote the screenplay for The Descendants - family and other matters. The film with George Clooney in the lead role was in 2012 nominated for four Oscars. The Award for Best Adapted Screenplay could win Payne, Rash and Faxon eventually. In the same category the three numerous other awards, including the Chlotrudis Award, NBR Award, Satellite Award and the Writers Guild of America Award won. Moreover, they were among other things for the Golden Globe, the BAFTA nominated awards and the BFCA Award.

2013, the film was released Right at the back, in the Faxon collaborated with Jim Rash as an actor, screenwriter, producer and first time as a director.
