Natalia Morar

Natalia Morar (Romanian Natalia Morari also, Russian Наталья Григорьевна Морарь; born January 12, 1984 in the Moldavian SSR ) is a Moldovan investigative journalist for the Russian magazine The New Times and a leading figure of the Moldovan opposition.

Morar lived from 2002 to 2007 in Russia and completed in 2007 to study sociology at Moscow State University. She was prevented in December 2007, without giving further reasons of the border troops of Russia at Moscow's Domodedovo airport on the re-entry to Russia, presumably because of their expose corruption in Russia.

Morar was one of the organizers of the mass protests against the electoral victory of the ruling Communists in Moldova's capital Chisinau in April 2009. Up to 15,000 people, mainly young people who took part in the protests. Most of them were informed via SMS and via Twitter about the protests.
