Natalie Gauci
Natalie Gauci (* November 26, 1981 in Melbourne, Australia) is a singer of Italian and Maltese descent. On 25 November 2007, she has won the fifth season of the talent show Australian Idol in the final against Matt Corby and is the first Australian candidate who only enter a " wildcard" in the theme shows and yet was able to achieve victory. In addition to Canada's Ryan Malcolm, Kazakhstan's Almas Kishkenbayev Agnes Carlsson and Sweden it is the fourth candidate an idol show, which this has been achieved worldwide.

Biography
Before Australian Idol Natalie Gauci worked as a freelance musician and performed with artists such as Matt Hetherington and Beven Addinsal. After a few appearances Gauci who also plays the piano, even writing songs and recording in the studio began with their EP titled Take It or Leave It emerged that appeared in April 2006. The EP in 2007 reached the Top 500 of the Billboard World Songwriting Contest. In November 2006, Gauci was invited as a member of the Oz City Song Circle to Los Angeles, where she was able to appear before the American public with other Australian artists for the first time.
To 2006/2007 she founded with Kumar Shome, Jules Pascoe and Tracey Conrad Natalie Gauci band in which they took over the vocals and keyboards played. The style of the band that has already occurred several times in the area of Melbourne, including soul, pop and jazz.
Gauci also worked as a music teacher at the Academy of Mary Immaculate in Fitzroy, a district of Melbourne.
Australian Idol
Natalie Gauci took part in Melbourne ( Victoria) in the casting. She was chosen by the jury in the Top 24, but could not reach enough audience votes to get into the Top 12. Also in the Wildcard show, she did not achieve enough votes why Carl Riseley and Gauci were finally selected by the jury " wildcards " in the Top 12.
Over the Top 12 performances, she received three of the coveted Mark Holden " touchdowns " for Rihanna's "Umbrella", Divinyls ' " Boys in Town" and Ella Fitzgerald's " How High the Moon".
On 12 November 2007 she became the first candidate elected to the finals with Matt Corby and as one of the so far only three Australian members who have reached the final as a " wildcard". She took the winning single " Here I Am " with Matt Corby in the Kings Cross studio in Sydney on and sang it in the final, after she was announced as the winner of the season. The maxi-single was released on 28 November 2007. She is the first candidate who has ever won Australian Idol as a " wildcard".
Australian Idol performances
Post- Idol
Gauci has been with Sony BMG Australia under contract. As the winner of Australian Idol in 2007 Gauci will publish a " Winner's Journey" album with a DVD containing the songs that she has performed during the show, and first go to Australia on tour. She is also planning a tour with her band for January 2007.
