Natalie Massenet

Natalie Massenet, MBE (born 1966 in Paris) is the founder and director of Net- A- Porter, an Internet retailer of designer clothing and accessories, based in London.

Life

Natalie Massenet was born in 1966 as the daughter of Barbara, a British model and Bob Rooney, an American journalist. She grew up in Paris and Los Angeles. After leaving school, she studied literature at the University of California, Los Angeles, and then worked as an assistant director for low-budget films. From 1993, she worked for Women's Wear Daily, then for the magazine Tatler in London. During this time, their idea for an Internet store for designer clothing originated. In June 2000, she founded with financial support from her husband's Net-A - Porter. On 1 April 2010 it sold its stake in the company to Richemont for £ 50 million (nearly EUR 61 million ).

She is married to Arnaud Massenet, a French hedge fund manager, with whom she has two daughters and lives in London. For her contribution to the British economy, she was appointed in November 2009 to MBE.
