Natascha Keller

Natascha Keller ( born July 3, 1977 in Berlin ) is a German hockey player.

After the sixth place at the 1996 Olympic Games and seventh place in Sydney in 2000, she won 2004 Olympic gold in Athens with the German national women's hockey. Other medals she won in 1995 with the team third in the European Championship and 1998 European Indoor champion. In the 1998 World Cup it was with the team third parties. In 1999 the German team won silver at the European Championships, Natascha Keller was declared a World Hockey Player of the Year in 1999. In 2003 she became World Indoor Champion and European Championship third parties.

Natascha Keller comes from the famous German hockey family. Become Olympic champions are her father Carsten Keller ( 1972 Munich ) as well as their brothers Andreas ( Barcelona 1992 ) and Florian ( Beijing 2008 ). Her grandfather Erwin Keller won in 1936 in Berlin Olympic silver against the then applicable as unbeatable Indians. Natascha Keller makes the Berlin Hockey Club, with which it was 1994, 1996, 1999, 2000, 2005, 2006 and 2008 German Champion. At European level, she won with her club in 1997 the European Champions Cup in 2008 and the European Cup Winners' Cup. Also in the hall she was with her club three times German Champion (1995, 1996 and 2000). With 425 caps ( 389 on the field and 36 in the hall ) is record national of the German Hockey Federation.

At the opening ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London was Natascha Keller flag bearer for the German delegation. For the first time a hockey player so honored. The team reached the Hockey Tournament 7th place and then announced her departure from the national team.
