Nate Mendel

Nate Mendel ( born Nathan Gregor Mendel, born December 2, 1968 in Richland, Washington ) is an American rock musician who was especially known as the bassist of the band Sunny Day Real Estate and Foo Fighters. He is also active in the bands The Jealous Sound, Juno and The Fire Theft.

Career

Mendel was born in 1968 in Richland, a small town in the U.S. federal Instead of Washington. His first instrument was the violin before he got to the age of 13 bass to join a band. He focused on punk rock and visited in Richland held concerts of various DIY punk bands like Scream. Mendel brought the Basspielen mainly even when he was guided by hardcore punk bands like Minor Threat, Black Flag and Bad Brains.

Mendel's first "real" bands were the hardcore band Diddley Squat, the Straight Edge band Brotherhood and Christ on a Crutch. After he had met at the University of Washington Dan Hoerner, he and Hoerner and William Goldsmith 1992, the emo band Sunny Day Real Estate. After Sunny Day Real Estate had separated in 1995, he joined Dave Grohl's band, Foo Fighters, at. 1997, when Sunny Day Real Estate reunited on which to release another album a year Mendel said and stayed - in contrast to his colleague William Goldsmith - with the Foo Fighters.

2005 Mendel was first seen as an actor in a movie: In the independent film Our Burden Is Light he plays alongside his girlfriend Jessica Ballard, a member of the fictional band Bleeder. Also, for the soundtrack of this film Mendel was responsible.

When Sunny Day Real Estate reunited again in 2009, Mendel was also part of the band.

In October 2012 the Fender Nate Mendel P Bass brought out his personal signature bass guitar.
