Nathalie Weinzierl
Nathalie Weinzierl ( born April 8, 1994, Saarbrücken ) is a German figure skater who starts in a single run.
Biography
At the national level, it has so far won five medals: In 2006, she won bronze in the junior category, 2007, she was German Youth Vice Champion, 2008 German Junior Vice-Champion, 2013 German Vice Champion in Hamburg and 2014 German Champion in Berlin.
At the beginning of the 2011/2012 season moved to Nathalie Weinzierl country coach Peter Sczypa, with whom she celebrated their first success in the senior class.
In January 2012 she won a silver medal in the Senior Competition Heiko - Fischer- Pokal in Stuttgart. Aided by the violation of their training colleague Sarah Hecken she was nominated by the DEU for the European Championships 2012 in Sheffield. In her debut she made it to the finals and finished at the end of the 22th Place. In February, she won her first gold medal at an ISU - listed world ranking competition. With 138.47 points, she won the Bavarian Open 2012 in Oberstdorf.
In the 2012/2013 season Nathalie Weinzierl started with a top 10 finish at the ISU Junior Grand Prix in Linz. With 134.90 points, she finished 9th overall. When also internationally renowned Nebelhorn Trophy 2012 in Oberstdorf she reached the 7th place, bringing with her 142.96 points at the same time for short and free program called for by the International Skating Union minimum technology score for the World Championships 2013. Due to their good performance in the Junior Grand Prix in Linz she received from the DEU another starting place for an ISU Junior Grand Prix. When JGP " Cup of the Blue Swords " in Chemnitz, she managed again with the 10th place a Top 10 ranking. In the NRW Trophy for Single & Pair Skating 2012, which provided the basis of the comeback of Olympic gold medalist and world champion of 2010 Yu -na Kim of media interest, she reached the 6th rank. In December 2012, she won at the German Championships 2013 in Hamburg with 150.55 points, the runner-up and qualified on points for the 2013 European Championships in Zagreb in late January. There, they reached the 9th place with 147.52 points. With the jump into the top 10 they obtained for Germany, two places in the European Championships 2014 in Budapest and at the same time qualifies for the World Championships in 2013 in mid-March in London, Canada. She was also nominated by the DEU for the Junior World Championships in late February 2013 in Milan. In the Bavarian Open 2013, it took another gold medal with 157.42 points.
In the Olympic season, she competed at the Nebelhorn Trophy in Oberstdorf with a respectable 8th place ( 137.36 points). When Ondrej Nepala Trophy in Bratislava she reached the 5th place ( 142.88 points), the subsequent Coupe de Nice Rank 3 with 144.56 points - 0.44 points on the German Olympic standard ( 145 points ) over. When Merano Cup in November 2013 in Merano, she won the gold medal with 139.97 points. After a top performance in freestyle Kurzkür and she won in 2013 for the first time the German championship with her personal best of 175.31 points. Due to this good performance, she was nominated for the team competition and individual competitions for the Olympic Games 2014 in Sochi. With the 8th place at the European Championship 2014 in Budapest ( 151,88 points) she established herself in the top European and secured the DEU again, two places in the European Championship 2015 in Stockholm. At the Olympics in Sochi, she could qualify for the freestyle at the short program with 57.63 points ( 10th place ). However, in this you made a few errors ( 89.73 points), whereby they slipped to 18th place.
Nathalie Weinzierl studied at the University of Mannheim corporate law. In October 2012, she was elected by the citizens of the city of Frankenthal Athlete of the Year in 2012.
