Nathan Barr

Nathan Barr ( born February 9, 1973) is an American composer.

Biography

Nathan Barr grew up in a musical family. His mother played the koto and piano and his father played the banjo, guitar and shakuhachi. He began at the age of four years with learning a musical instrument. He and his family traveled around the world and was musically influenced by many cultures. After 1993, his musical studies at Skidmore College graduating he toured with the " Juilliard Cello Ensemble" by Europe. In 1996, he moved to Los Angeles and later managed his entry as a film composer as assistant to Hans Zimmer. With the staged by Dean Paraskevopoulos comedy Hair Shirt - Something About Corey Barr in 1998 debuted as a film composer for a feature film. In addition to his music for the television series True Blood Barr is known above all by his long-time collaboration with director Eli Roth. He has composed the music for films like Cabin Fever, Hostel and Hostel 2

Barr was married for several years with the singer Lisbeth Scott. After 2010, publicly confessed to his bisexuality, he has been voted one of the 100 most influential LGBT personalities in the same year the Out magazine.
