Nathan Robinson
Nathan Robinson ( born December 31, 1981 in Scarborough, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who played for the Cologne Sharks in the DEL. During his career, he was further including in the National Hockey League for the Detroit Red Wings and the Boston Bruins active.
Career
After his career had begun in the Canadian Junior Football League Ontario Hockey League in 1998 and he was able to complete the 2001/02 season as the most successful scorer winning the Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy as well as a place in the All-Star team in the league, Robinson joined the North American professional league East Coast Hockey League and was awarded a NHL contract shortly afterwards. The Detroit Red Wings Robinson came first but only at their farm team, the Grand Rapids Griffins, are used.
The Griffins Robinson was able to convince in his second year and was among the top performers in the team after a season. He scored in 69 games 50 points scorer and was also able to show a plus / minus statistics of 8. In the subsequent play-offs his team resigned in Division semifinals with 2:3 against the Chicago Wolves. Robinson came up with three missions in which he failed to reach a point scorer. His first five appearances in the NHL denied Robinson in the 2003/04 season for the Red Wings.
After two more years in the American Hockey League the links Sagittarius moved to 2005/ 06 to the Boston Bruins, but he was only used twice. As in Detroit, he was mainly in the squad of the farm teams. In 70 games for the Providence Bruins of the AHL he scored 60 points, making it one of the best strikers in the team point.
After his contract was not renewed at the end of the season and he barely figured there are opportunities on a long-term commitment in the NHL, he forced a move to Europe. There, the leaders of the Adler Mannheim were aware of the then 24 -year-old and transferred in the 2006/07 season in the German Hockey League. With the polar bears he was only a year later to win the German Cup and was top scorer of the play-offs. In 13 games he scored 15 points scorer and thus had a major share in the triumph of Berlin. The technically savvy offensive player was also nominated for the second time for the DEL All-Star Game, which took place in Dresden.
For the 2009/10 season he was bound by the Adler Mannheim, where he played two years ago. The contract runs until 2012 but was terminated by mutual agreement by both parties on 10 January 2011. On 27 January 2011 Robinson was hired by the Finnish first division club Espoo Blues.
On 27 September 2011, he signed a contract with the Vienna Capitals for the season 2011/12. In summer 2012, Robinson received first decide on sample contract for the duration of the pre-season with the Cologne Sharks, which was renewed in September 2012 for the 2012/2013 season .. On January 23, 2014 he was released from training and match operation of the Cologne Sharks, a return is not provided.
