National Assembly (Angola)

The National Assembly (Portuguese Assembleia Nacional ) is the unicameral Parliament of Angola.

The National Assembly consists of 220 deputies who are elected for four years each. 130 members are elected nationally by proportional representation. The remaining members are elected on lists of provinces.

Since the inception of the People's Republic of Angola to the multi-party democracy in 1991, there has been parliamentary elections in 1992, 2008 and 2012. Between 1992 and 2002, the civil war made ​​it impossible for elections in Angola.
